Missing Feature

Postby igrp » Mon Jul 27, 2009 12:56 pm

Hello,

in previous LDAP Administrator versions (2.* and 3.*) there was a very usefull feature which i am missing in the newest versions (2008.1 and 2009.1).

I am using IBM Tivoli Directory Server. In group entries there is the attribute uniquemember (showing every member in the group) and in user entries there is the attribute ibm-AllGroups (showing every group membership).

In previous versions, as mentioned above, I can doubleclick on an uniquemember entry inside a group and got the corresponding user entry. Vice versa when I doubleclicked an ibm-AllGroups entry inside an user, I got the corresponding group entry. (I tested it with LDAP Browser 2.6 and there it works also.)

Is there a reason why the feature has been removed or is there a way to activate it in the new LDAP Administrator versions (I tried several configurations without success)?

Regards

it should work in 4.x.

Does application detect that uniquemember and ibm-AllGroups have DN syntax? Right click on an attribute and select Properties to see it.

seems to have DN syntax
Properties of both attributes:

Syntax Name: DN - distinguished name
Syntax OID: 1.3.6.1.4.1.1466.115.121.1.12

any further suggestions?

I mainly use LDAP Administrator 2008.1 SP2 4.0.8205.0 (x86)
As I wrote in my inital post, I tried it also with the trial version from 2009.1 (and with previous 2008.1 versions too)

we've reproduced this issue with IBM 6.2 and currently investigate the issue.
I'll update this topic when we get results. Stay tuned please.

I tested it with the provided test build and it is functioning now.
Thank you for your quick response!

Is it possible to implement the fix in a 2008 (4.0) version too? Because my company has only licences for the 2008 (and earlier) version.

Not yet. We plan to release 2008.1 SP3 in two or three weeks.
